hello, gorgeous!

I saw a great post on WhoWhatWear Beauty the other day. My favorite supermodel Jessica Stam revealed what was in her ADORABLE piglet makeup bag. I love seeing what beauty products other people love, and since I post mostly fashion stuff, I figured why not share some of my favorite products?
By the way, it looks like Stam is now a brunette!? I love it.

Seriously, is this real?! MUST HAVE.

My makeup bag is not nearly this cute, but I do love it just the same.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Nylon Cosmetic Bag - Zappos

And here is the bounty:

Seriously, all MAC eyeshadows are amazing, but this is the greatest shade ever made. It is the chameleon of eyeshadows. It can look grey, brown, purple, taupe...it's incredible. I love to wear it in my crease and sometimes as a liner as it's pretty dark on my pale skin.
I never used to wear blush until about a year ago. Everything was always too clowny or dark. This is the perfect corally-peachy shade. It's the only thing I'll use on my face; powder and foundation drive me crazy, and I've never found a shade that matched my skin, so that takes care of that. This color looks practically invisible on most, but if you have extreme fair skin like me, get this! You'll love it.
I have been wearing Dr. Pepper chapstick and nothing but since the age of 10. Now that I'm 24, I decided it might be time to wear big girl lip stuff. I compromised and got a tinted lip balm, but this is indeed the grown-up version of DP chapstick. It smells like lemon sugar and makes your lips feel amazing. The tint is perfect. Just the right amount of color for girls like me who love some color, but are afraid of red lips during the day.
I use this as a base, mixed with my Satin Taupe. I like to wear a pinky-taupe eye pretty much everyday. This pink is great because it's got a little shimmer and looks great with brown eyes. I love it on the lid and as a highlighter on my brow bone. It's not in-your-face pink at all. Very subtle.
I just got into cat eyes recently. I had been toying with the idea for awhile, and now I love to rock a cat eye everyday. This stuff is amazing because it's a very precise liquid eyeliner that's nearly foolproof. Some liquid liners are a disaster -- this one will not get clumpy or gooey and gives a smooth, fine line every time.
6.) L'Oreal Voluminous mascara in Carbon Black
I've tried lots of mascaras over the years, but I keep going back to this one. It gives me amazing, thick lashes without being clumpy and spidery. It's hard to beat, for me, and rings in at about 7 bucks. Can't beat that.
7.) Revlon Colorstay eyeliner in Black Brown
So, on the top, I love to wear liquid and on the bottom, I very faintly dot on this pencil liner right on the lash line. It just makes your eyelashes look thicker, along with mascara. This stuff does not budge and is the perfect color combo of black and brown.
8.) Olay Complete moisturizer
Many moisturizers have been tried since puberty and the days of terrible skin. This one calmed my skin down (finally) in 8th grade, and I've never looked back. It's unscented, not greasy or thick and it has SPF in it to protect me from the evil sun.
9.) Cetaphil face wash
This was another skin care item I found when dealing with acne as a teenager. It doesn't irritate at all, and just keeps your skin clean. Another tried and true that you don't have to shell out big bucks for at all.

a bag affair

Spring bags are turning up everywhere! Some are canvas, woven, striped, bold prints and colors -- but regardless, there's something for everyone.

Kate Spade "Horseshoe Cove Scout" - Zappos

I'm obsessed with this bag. I was reluctant about the size, as it is kind of smaller. I made the mistake of putting my stuff in it (which really just consists of a large wallet and the case for my sunglasses). Of course, it fit really well and that made me want it even more. I cracked and bought it at Von Maur. It's a coated canvas and patent neon coral, and the color in real life is so gorgeous. It's a nice alternative to my neon orange Cambridge Satchel because this is much more feminine and it has a magnetic close. Plus, it has a polka dot lining (typical Kate Spade adorableness).

Kate Spade "Point Breeze Mini Coal" - Bloomingdale's

Here's another Kate Spade from her spring collection. So many of her spring bags are amazing, so it was hard to choose just a few to post. I could really do an entire post about all of them, but this is an interesting take on the straw tote. I love the chain strap -- gives it a much more glamorous feel. I absolutely love straw bags, especially when they're striped.

Marc by Marc Jacobs "Striped Sami Tote" - Bloomingdale's

This bag is actually not black, but navy. It's a beautiful, nautical beachy tote, spacious and roomy for all of your mild-weathered needs. It's straw and leather woven, and the colors are so great you could probably wear this in other seasons as well.

Rebecca Minkoff "Studded Affair"- Bloomingdale's

I will probably always have a love affair with studs. This bag is lady-like and the perfect crisp white spring shade, but I absolutely love the mini spikes to toughen things up. This is an updated version of her black studded bag last fall with the gold hardware.

Kate Spade "Delavan Terrace Little Nadine" - Piperlime

Kind of like an Hermes picnic basket? So cute.

Marc by Marc Jacobs "Solid Straw Top Handle"- Piperlime

So far Piperlime is the only place that has this bag -- and it's on order until May. Looks like it might be worth the wait. It's a fantastic size, simple and with a shoulder strap and a longer strap. I love the two tones of black leather with straw.
Tillary canvas bucket bag- J.Crew

J.Crew never disappoints in clothes, jewelry or bags, and this Tillary bag is no different. I held it in person, and the leather is super soft and a very vibrant green. I love the navy stripe. It's a super preppy bag, but imagine it with a leather jacket or some moto ankle boots.

Cooperative Mixed Media Tote- Urban Outfitters

Trendy neon and a nice beige canvas only for $59. This is one of my favorite bags at Urban right now. I haven't seen it come through the store yet, but it's still available online (for now, anyway). I predict this to be a big seller.

Rebecca Minkoff "MAB Mini Straw"- Saks

If ever there was a springy bag designed for girls who like their accessories to have an attitude (i.e.- me!), this is it. I love the juxtaposition of tough with light and airy straw bag. The inside is leopard too (drool!)!! Bonus: It looks to be super expensive, but it's really not.

Daybook Mini Satchel- Anthropologie

A Marni-style bag with an Anthro price tag! Score.

Happy shopping! xox
