best dressed: cfda

The CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) awards were earlier this week, and of course, the most exciting part was seeing what the attendees were wearing. Overall, I wanted to see more drama and more risk-taking, especially given the lineup of fashion all-stars. But there were some absolutely STUNNING looks from the evening, and I've narrowed down my favorites.

Joan Smalls in Michael Kors

My absolute favorite look of the night. Model Joan Smalls looks absolutely killer in a fresh, simple high-low dress with beautiful gold accessories to top it off. She looked like a Calvin Klein ad from the '90s. Simple and gorgeous.

Arizona Muse in Diane von Furstenberg

I love the unexpected element of the high boots with the mini dress. It's chic and very mod.

Jessica Chastain in Prabal Gurung

Of course I had to pick Miss Babecity herself, Jessica Chastain. The always-gorgeous actress glittered in a shimmery dress with a cape and gold heels. I didn't get the best picture of her face, but her makeup was absolutely flawless as well.

Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung

Another knockout in Prabal Gurung. This dress was made for Zoe. She looks so high-fashion and insanely beautiful.

Rachel Zoe in Rachel Zoe :)

The glamorous, exuberant Rachel Zoe shimmered and shined in a sequined gown designed by her. I would've expected nothing more from the always-fabulous designer.

Jessica Pare in Jason Wu

The lovely actress was simple and fun in this electric pink and lace dress. I love the collar and the hair is perfect with it.

The Olsen twins with Lauren Hutton

The three people that define personal style and effortless chic posed together in very different, but amazing looks. Hutton was cool and relaxed in a crisp white suit, while Mary-Kate (left) and Ashley (right) wore their designs for The Row.

sag awards best dressed

No surprises here. The ever-stunning Angelina Jolie wore a drapey Jenny Packham gown with vintage jewelry. This is my favorite Angelina: kohl rimmed eyes, black and simple. So gorgeous. This dress is stunning.

I love how Michelle Williams can pull off pretty much any color. Sweet and glowing in this Valentino dress, she ties it together perfectly with a clutch and some gold jewelry. I love the lace detailing on this dress.

Probably my favorite of the evening right here. Emma Stone wears a to die for Alexander McQueen 1950s style dress. This whole look was perfect on her. I was not into what she wore at the Globes at all, so I'm glad to see her in something like this.

Tilda Swinton is one of my favorite actresses and style icons. She is the epitome of cool and androgynous. For this event, she traded up for a more elegant style than usual with this ethereal Lanvin gown. She keeps it totally simple with a bold red lip. Perfection.

Rose Byrne is gorgeous and can probably wear most things and look amazing, but I was in love with this Elie Saab jumpsuit. It was unexpected, unique and gorgeous! I'm sure it was dazzling in real life, but it photographed so well. I'm loving her bob haircut too. This was my second favorite.

I love this girl. Jessica Chastain always takes my breath away. The color of this Calvin Klein gown was so stunning on her with her beautiful hair and FLAWLESS pale skin. I love the simplicity and the sapphire earrings she chose to pair it with.

One of the evening's winners Octavia Spencer looked absolutely beautiful in this Tadashi Shoji dress. The color was perfect, the accessories were great, her hair and makeup is flawless -- and did I mention how amazing she looked at the Globes? Well, she did! She knows how to dress for her body type.
