coachella 2013 favorites

I have yet to attend the beloved music festival in Indio, California, but every year I die over the lineup and dream up what I might wear and who I'd see. I always LOVE to see what festival-goers wear, celebrity or not. It's like the indie version of the Oscars. This year was very impressive.

Alexa Chung in Lacoste

This is no surprise. I love anything and everything she wears.

Agyness Deyn in her own design for Dr. Martens

Haven't seen much of Aggy lately, aside from her AMAZING Dr. Martens collaboration. I love how casual this look is, and that eyeball print is so stinkin' cute. I saw it as a dress which was also adorable.

Chanel Iman in Alexander Wang
Babe alert: Here is model Chanel Iman KILLING it in the most to-die-for Alexander Wang sandals. I absolutely love how she made these festival-ready and almost casual.

Diane Kruger

Always lovely and dresses to impress. I love her vintage rock tee with the printed short-shorts.

Madeline Sensibile from Obsessee wearing Agyness Deyn for Dr. Martens

Here's the eyeball print again! I love it more as a dress, actually. Maddie is one of my favorite bloggers; she always manages to pull off the perfect rock girl look with girly items, masculine, thrifted, high-end, etc. The girl can do no wrong.

alexander wang spring 2011

An Alexander Wang collection with no black? Say it ain't so. But the reigning king of cool made his collection just that with lots of white, metallics, and a flash of camel. A nod to the heroin chic days of Calvin Klein, the models appeared to have vaseline on their faces and hair slicked back with white paint. No exuberant hair and makeup (well, as far as fashion shows are concerned) or any bold accessories to speak of, Alexander made it all about the clothes and less about the entire aesthetic.

He's been called the champion of reinventing sportswear and making it more modern. He incorporates an industrial look, almost utilitarian with the clothes donning straps and boots made for serious walking (behold the treaded hiking boots...love, love). His mint green and nude pieces show that Alexander indeed possess knowledge of the rainbow. He just chooses to not always show it, critics be damned.

If Alexander wanted ethereal downtown Manhattan, he got it. I tend to prefer darkness in my wardrobe, but he proved with this collection that he's capable of going soft while remaining tough.

alexander wang: fall 2010

Alexander Wang has pretty much become my favorite minimalist designer (a title previously held by Jil Sander). He continues to impress with every collection, and this one is no exception. He usually sticks to very neutral tones and keeps it simple. He's made his way into the hearts of the cool girls and has now become their go-to designer.

I'm pleased to see that menswear is still a big deal. His is very structured and has a bit of edge with the leather and studded pants and velour jumpsuits. And knee socks! I cannot stress enough how stoked I am to see the designers incorporating socks in general, but knee socks especially.
