I have yet to attend the beloved music festival in Indio, California, but every year I die over the lineup and dream up what I might wear and who I'd see. I always LOVE to see what festival-goers wear, celebrity or not. It's like the indie version of the Oscars. This year was very impressive.

Haven't seen much of Aggy lately, aside from her AMAZING Dr. Martens collaboration. I love how casual this look is, and that eyeball print is so stinkin' cute. I saw it as a dress which was also adorable.

Babe alert: Here is model Chanel Iman KILLING it in the most to-die-for Alexander Wang sandals. I absolutely love how she made these festival-ready and almost casual.

Always lovely and dresses to impress. I love her vintage rock tee with the printed short-shorts.

Here's the eyeball print again! I love it more as a dress, actually. Maddie is one of my favorite bloggers; she always manages to pull off the perfect rock girl look with girly items, masculine, thrifted, high-end, etc. The girl can do no wrong.

I miss the '90s everyday. Luckily, all I have to do is put on my Docs and listen to some Hole (maybe watch Clueless or Daria), and it's all better.

best dressed: mid-november

I don't usually like what Whitney Port wears. Sorry, Whit. Every now and then, however, she hits a homerun. This is one of those times. Congratulations on being the best dressed for mid November!

So good! More like this. Dr. Martens and leopard print shorts (or skirt?) with a chunky sweater is a fantastic start.  Be more daring and I'll be more interested.

i love the '90s

When I was in 5th grade, I desperately wanted my first pair of Dr. Martens. I saw them at my local department store (okay, at Von Maur): the tortoise shell patent leather 1460 8-eye boot. I couldn't wait until back-to-school that year so that I might beg my parents for a pair for my school shoes for the rest of the year, NAY, the rest of my life! It was a sad day, come the end of August, when they were out of my size and another pair could not be located because they were so special. They were the ones that got away.

I settled for a pair of basic black boots which I wore to death until my feet grew out of them the next year. Last week, I requited my long lost love with a pair of black patent leather boots from Zappos.

When I wear them, I feel like a more grown-up version of myself at age 10. I love that we can all take things from our childhood that meant so much to us and still make it apply to who we are now. I can't say that about many things, especially things I wore. A lot of them represent who I was in the past, and that's where they'll stay.

Some fashion trends were too cool to be a memory frozen in time. I've seen a huge resurgence of '90s-ish clothing these last couple of seasons. As a child of the '90s, naturally, I feel comforted by these trends and reminded of how simple my life was watching Nickelodeon and reading The Baby-Sitters Club. I wanted to be just like those girls from the books and Melissa Joan Hart's title character from 'Clarissa Explains It All.'

We don't always have a picture of what Claudia is wearing, but we usually get a vivid description in the books. She has an extremely eclectic sense of style, always described as wearing things that you would never imagine to go together, but she makes it look amazing. Like Clarissa Darling, Claudia loves bright colored leggings, big earrings, vests, lots of denim, and cowboy boots. Claudia and Clarissa would've probably been friends had they gone to the same fictional junior high school. Also, they would be great thrift store shopping buddies.

In contrast to the bright colors and prints, the '90s also had its share of moodiness. Charlotte Ronson's Spring 2011 collection was inspired by Claire Danes' character on My So-Called Life (Angela) with lots of flannels, shirts tied around the waist, florals with boots, beanies, and denim shirts.

Angela was angsty and post-grunge adolescent to the max.

Seeing these trends making a comeback makes me happy. It's not even completely that I loved wearing them, but because they remind me of when I was a kid and how excited I got over everything. Life was just good. No stresses over work or school. And the TV shows? They were so good! I feel sorry for any generation that can't grow up with Nickelodeon or TGIF. Not the crap Nickelodeon has today, which is basically a pre-pubescent version of MTV, but the old stuff. It's comforting and nostalgic when you see stuff from your childhood that brings back fond memories. I'll probably have a new pair of Doc Martens when I'm in the retirement home just to make me remember those days.

wish list for fall

Seeing as how my birthday is in 3 days, and most of these things are way too freaking expensive, this is just a pipe-dream. But maybe not forever.

1.) Kate Moss by Mario Testino. I haven't flipped through this or seen it in real life, but with those two names on the cover, I WANT IT. I will carry it around with me everyday.

2.) Miu Miu SS/10 cat-print clogs. Y'know, I'd take the daisy ones too. Or the sparrow. Whatev.

3.) Marc Jacobs mouse flats. As mentioned before, these are my favorite shoes ever created. My favorite designer in the whole entire world is Marc Jacobs.

4.) Vintage floral Dr. Martens. These are the legit ones from the 90s, not the ones I have from Urban. Not that I don't LOVE mine, but these are definitely an iconic piece from the grunge era.

5.) Ben Amun gold coin necklace. So beautiful. Probably made better than mine from a thrift store that looks just like it.

6.) Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse leopard shawl. Marc Jacobs used his namesake and signature leopard design to honor the late designer/artist in 2008. I bet this is cozy and wonderful.

7.) Leopard coat. This one is Topshop, but any will do. I'd love to find the perfect faux-fur slightly-longish one in a thrift store someday. I've always wanted one.

8.) Prada knee-socks. I'm not crazy about the shoes. Sometimes Prada shoes are so pointy, like they're going to take someone's eyes out if you pissed off the wrong person. I've been into socks lately, and I love the DIY-ness that they have. Also, they look really warm and probably cute with some mouse flats. Just saying.
