coachella 2013 favorites

I have yet to attend the beloved music festival in Indio, California, but every year I die over the lineup and dream up what I might wear and who I'd see. I always LOVE to see what festival-goers wear, celebrity or not. It's like the indie version of the Oscars. This year was very impressive.

Alexa Chung in Lacoste

This is no surprise. I love anything and everything she wears.

Agyness Deyn in her own design for Dr. Martens

Haven't seen much of Aggy lately, aside from her AMAZING Dr. Martens collaboration. I love how casual this look is, and that eyeball print is so stinkin' cute. I saw it as a dress which was also adorable.

Chanel Iman in Alexander Wang
Babe alert: Here is model Chanel Iman KILLING it in the most to-die-for Alexander Wang sandals. I absolutely love how she made these festival-ready and almost casual.

Diane Kruger

Always lovely and dresses to impress. I love her vintage rock tee with the printed short-shorts.

Madeline Sensibile from Obsessee wearing Agyness Deyn for Dr. Martens

Here's the eyeball print again! I love it more as a dress, actually. Maddie is one of my favorite bloggers; she always manages to pull off the perfect rock girl look with girly items, masculine, thrifted, high-end, etc. The girl can do no wrong.

"that's quacktastic"

There's something about duck boots that charm the crap out of me. They're impossibly preppy and some are just so ugly they're damn near adorable, but I am intrigued. I first fell in love with them at the beginning of fall when Tommy Hilfiger put them in his collection. I fell in love yet again when I saw these at an LL Bean store in Maine. They were not quite as stylish and without a heel, but rugged and cute nonetheless. Kicking myself, still, for not buying them!

Tommy Hilfiger puts a cute twist on duck boots.

(Duck) boots with the fur... Joan of Arctic Boot

Classic Bass boot. Can't go wrong.

Another Sorel beauty.

Wallet-friendly courtesy of Target!

The words "sassy" and "duck" aren't together enough in the same sentence, as far as I'm concerned. I mean, these babies just need some black tights, a chunky sweater, statement necklace, and voila! Pick your poison to make these unconventionally stylish.

Oh, Chanel Iman, you read my mind. (Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2010)

Preppy meets edgy with liquid leggings. Nice one, Olivia Palermo!

I don't know who she is, but she looks super cute!

best dressed: mid-november

I don't usually like what Whitney Port wears. Sorry, Whit. Every now and then, however, she hits a homerun. This is one of those times. Congratulations on being the best dressed for mid November!

So good! More like this. Dr. Martens and leopard print shorts (or skirt?) with a chunky sweater is a fantastic start.  Be more daring and I'll be more interested.

Here are some of my other favorites.

dolce and gabbana spring 2011

Talk about a summer blockbuster with an all-star cast. The titans of the modeling world were in full-force at Dolce and Gabbana, including my hometown hero, Samantha Gradoville (interview someday, perhaps? Lemme talk to her dad and see what I can do). As though they were exiting heaven, all ladies began the show dressed in head-to-toe white, which was so elegant and summery.

The attention immediately turned to Victoria's Secret model, Alessandria Ambrosio, who juxtaposed the purity with an all-black ensemble. She came back a second time donning another black look, which I have to say, was absolutely beautiful on her.

Just to show that, no, they're not totally innocent, a little bit of leopard was included. One of the dresses was a lace-leopard fusion mixing the two trends in one. The only other print was a greenish floral. This was a highly-wearable collection that was kept simple with two main colors and two prints. The way in which they married the prints and the lace was lovely. I imagine I would enjoy mixing the leopard pieces with the floral as well.

It says a lot about a designer (or in this case, two) when they are able to book most of the greats, past and present. Dolce and Gabbana continues to establish their dominance in the fashion world, and they have the gorgeous designs to back them up.
