marc jacobs: fall 2010

Using a muted color pallette, Marc Jacobs sets the mood for fall with his simple and dreamy collection. The simplicity is offset with the occasional sparkle from sequins, and unlike Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs is not necessarily celebrating shape, rather shapeless. Most of the jackets and coats were oversized as were the sweaters. The giant, chunky sweaters and furs look amazing with the full, pleated skirts.

No accessories to speak of, except for some glasses, gloves, bags, and incredible shoes, but the focus for fall is certainly (visible) socks. Socks with boots, heels, sandals, flats...anything! And we're seeing all sorts of sizes: ankle, knee, and thigh high. They are the perfect transition accessory when it's not quite cold enough for tights, but you feel like you need something. Plus, they're so stinking cute.
